New blog: Outsourcing

Email This Entry

Posted by

conv.gifWe've just launched a new group blog on the controversial and hot topic of outsourcing. Authored by Ron Hira, Michael Teitelbaum, Alex Williams and Danny Sullivan, this new Industry Insider from Corante will take a wide-ranging look at the issue with discussion of its political, economic and social impacts, and will be accompanied by an ongoing webcast series that kicks off December 1 and is sponsored by IEEE.

The series, called "Outsourcing Conversations: A Webcast Exploring Offshore Outsourcing and Its Impacts", is free and will run over the next few months.

First up: a discussion of what a second Bush Administration means for technology workers and the offshoring of high-tech jobs overseas?

Find out by joining the webcast from 1-3 p.m. EST. Ron Hira, chair of the IEEE-USA Career & Workforce Policy Committee, will discuss the issues with Michael Teitelbaum, a demographer with New York’s Alfred P. Sloan Foundation; and Ventoro founder Philip Hatch, whose company facilitates offshoring for U.S. and European clients.

To register, click here. And the blog, again, can be found here.
